Welcome

Welcome to my introduction to Linux course. This video is a full course that covers the basics of using the Linux Operating System. Linux is a clone of the UNIX operating system, so understanding one is understanding the other. I created this course for absolute beginners. The goal is for you to get a full understanding of how the Linux OS works. If you're still using Windows or Mac OS, you can still learn Linux using a virtual machine.

Quick Disclaimer

If you’re looking for a more advanced course for, let’s say, a Linux certification, then this may have some information that can help you. Still, it will not cover all the topics needed to pass a certification exam and give you an overview. I will only cover essential topics such as installation, primary configuration terminal usage, understanding of the file system, and software management. So please remember this course was designed for people that are very new to the Linux operating system. I have a class that hasn’t been fully completed, which will be released soon. The course will cover all modules needed for the CompTIA Linux + exam. Once that class is uploaded, you can easily roll from this course into the next and be fully prepared to take the CompTIA Linux + exam.

My Background

I have been an IT professional since 2007. I’ve worked in multiple positions such as a Network Administrator, Systems Administrator, and currently working as a database administrator. I’ve also been a Linux user since 2008, so I have a lot of knowledge when it comes to working with the Linux operating system.
